Film dokumentalny o Michale Głowińskim. Profesor Michał Głowiński do pewnego momentu był jedynie znanym teoretykiem i badaczem literatury. Po upadku PRL-u objawił się jako autor „Marcowego gadania” i innych książek będących zapisem peerelowskiej nowomowy. Zapiski te, od połowy lat 60. do 1989 r., przechowywał „w szufladzie” Jeszcze dłużej, choć już w innej szufladzie, czekały na publikację, a przedtem na zanotowanie, wydarzenia z okresu okupacji, na którą przypadło dzieciństwo bohatera - getto, ukrywanie się po aryjskiej stronie. Po 50 latach spisał je i wydał w książce „Czarne sezony”. Dwa totalitaryzmy: hitlerowski i komunistyczny, i dwie szuflady - szuflada realna, w której gromadził zapiski dotyczące życia w PRL, i szuflada pamięci, w której ukrywał wspomnienia najstraszniejszych chwil swego życia - to dwa główne wątki filmu, który jest portretem człowieka i portretem świata, jaki prof. Głowiński zapisał w swoich książkach.

A documentary about Professor Michał Głowiński. Born in 1934, he made a name as a prominent theoretician and historian of literature. After the collapse of communism, he published several books on ‘communist newspeak’, the fruit of his research from the mid 1960s onwards. Another publication which he took out from the drawer of his memory describes his war-time experience, including the early years spent in the Jewish Ghetto and his miraculous survival thanks to assistance from many people at the Aryan side. Fifty years after the war, he published his memoirs under the title ‘Czarne sezony’ (Black Seasons). The two totalitarianisms – Nazi and communist, and the two drawers, the real one in which he gathered his accounts of life in People’s Poland, and the drawer of his memory in which he concealed reminiscences of the most dramatic moments in his life, are the two main strands of the film, which is a portrait of Michał Glowiński and of the world which he described in his books.
