W dniach 7-10 grudnia 2000 r. w Teatrze Narodowym w Warszawie trwały obrady Kongresu Kultury Polskiej. Towarzyszyły im wydarzenia artystyczne, wystawy, spektakle, koncerty, debaty. Realizatorzy w kuluarach Kongresu rozmawiają z twórcami kultury o jej kondycji na przełomie wieków. Nie braknie odniesień do Kongresu w grudniu 1981 roku, brutalnie przerwanego przez stan wojenny.

The film looks at the state of culture and the arts in Poland at the start of the new millennium. Prominent artists are interviewed during the Congress of Polish Culture which was held at the National Theatre in Warsaw on 7-10 December 2000. Its side-line events included exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances and panel debates. Some of the interviewees refer in their remarks to the Congress of Polish Culture in December 1981 which was interrupted by the declaration of martial law.
