Sanitariuszka / The Nurse is a story told by Wanda Szydzik about the deportation of Poles and Germans to Sverdlovsk in the Urals after Soviet liberators entered the ruined Warsaw in January 1945.
Zegarek / The Watch focuses on the ‘moment of transition from the Gestapo to the NKVD’, a transition which leaves no doubt as what the ‘liberation’ really stood for.
